Jim Messer was born in rural New York State and spent his
early years
among the scenic mountains and lakes of that region. His
appreciation
of nature continued after moving to California in 1968, and
he turned
to photography to express the profound beauty that he sees
in the
natural world.
Jim’s
photography focuses on both the grand and the minute subjects
of nature,
intended always to express the emotions he is experiencing
as he views the scene before him. He uses both 4x5 view camera
35mm camera and digital camera formats to record his images.
His
sensitive and inspiring images can be found in private and
corporate collections, calendars, book covers, CD covers, and
promotional videos.
